Lovely family friendly place for walking, playing and the room on the broom trail

点评：I came here to look for a review and decide whether it would be a good place to bring my three year old twins. I didn’t find sufficient information so hope this helps. We had a great time and will be back!
Parking is good lots of spaces and only £2 for 4 hours. The visitor centre and play park are next to the car park. The play park is aimed more at older kids but my two still enjoyed it. The visitor centre has toilets which were clean. A cafe which looked nice we didn’t use it so can’t comment but had an outdoor and indoor part. A small gift shop and a room where they had seasonal activities.
The lake is quite a long walk around. Apparently 2 miles although looked longer to me! It was far too big for my girls to walk or bike around but thankfully I took the all terrain buggy and loaded it up with them and the two bikes. The room on the broom trail is good although spread out a lot all around the lake. You can get an activity pack with the trail map, an activity leaflet, some room on the broom themed colouring pages and some crayons for £2 at the visitor centre. We also bought some duck seed for 70p a bag. The room on the broom figures looked good solid and well made although were not painted so looked a bit unloved. We have visited the trail in Brentwood, Essex in comparison. Girls are big fans so enjoyed it.
Lake itself was nice plenty swans, geese and ducks to look at. The path is gravel and wide enough at all points for a double pram. I wouldn’t take my umbrella type pram but did see some people trying it. Also wear decent footwear as there is lots of geese poo around. Not too busy on a hot but cloudy day at the start of the school holidays.
On returning to the visitor centre we enjoyed the seasonal activities. A dressing up corner, some building blocks, a cute little pretend campfire etc, free and good fun.
All in all we had a great time and will be back. It’s so nice to find a place where we can have fun at low cost in the summer holidays.
