Coral Garden Tahaa的点评
点评：We got lucky on a boat that had nobody else (we did not book a private tour, just no people showed up that day, we booked with Te Mara Nui in Raiatea) on holidays around FP, and were the first people to arrive to the area - ultimately it were just myself and the boat captain who led me through the motu to the start of the garden "ride" - make sure you take water shoes, not just because of the corals being sharp but also you need to walk through the motu to the beginning of the drift and it's not just a sandy motu :)
Once in the water the current takes you on its own, from time to time you need to adjust so you don't hit the corals - our boat captain took the lead and said when to follow and when to stop, I didn't scrape myself but was close to it once, and just hit my leg while standing - but I did see at the airport some really badly cut legs of other people... I can only imagine it had to be from the corals!
Our boat captain had some bananas with us and the fish went crazy for it - this was my top 3 snorkeling experience of my life, with Aitutaki in Cook Islands, and Bora Bora here in FP Being the other 2, it's a must while in Raiatea or Tah'a! We did a coral garden free drift in Maupiti, but not sure if it was the terrible weather that day or just that coral garden was nothing compare to this one here in Taha'a - tones of colorful fish!
The depth at most I was told is 2 meters, but it didn't feel like it really and it's a pretty shallow waters - one could probably walk here if not for the push of the current.
