点评:To be fair, I've seen a lot of historical Victorian era houses. Probably too many. I should stop going really. If you haven't then you'd probably enjoy this and you should visit. The staff were attentive and I got a private tour the moment I walked in the door. I learned all about the names of families that lived there and how they used each room. The space was beautiful. But I've seen a lot of historical houses dedicated to people the guides assure me were very important, lots of parlours, cast iron stoves and hair wreaths. I'm at the point where I have to pretend not to know the answers to questions so I can be politely shocked by the explanation for a chamber pot. These houses blend together until you find the ones that stand out with unique storytelling, willingness to explore different themes or creative displays and programs. This one didn't particularly stand out. But it was free and it was raining and now I can say I've been.
