点评:After an early dinner across the street, we went to the AFI to see “Killers of the flower Moon.” It’s the chilling true story about how white citizens in Oklahoma in the early 20th century systematically murdered members of the Osage tribe in order to steal their oil wealth after oil was discovered beneath the tribal lands. You won’t hear about this growing up in Oklahoma, of course: God forfend that today’s white citizenry should be “made” to feel any discomfort about their ancestors’ crimes. But the true story is much larger in scale than the tiny wedge of the story told in the film. The film is about twice as long as it needed to be (maybe it was such a personal project for Scorsese that he lost all perspective; also the walnuts or whatever that Leonard De Caprio kept in his mouth to give himself jowls we’re quite distracting. But these are quibbles. The main theater itself is a lovingly restored Art Deco jewel: a true joy for any movie lover.
