点评：A must see place if you are visiting Sri Lanka. It is an ancient rock fortress located near the town of Dambulla in Central Province. It is a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of granite approximately 180 m (590 ft) high. Advisable to climb the structure early in the morning to minimise the heat and humidity. Wear light clothing and comfy non slip shoes. Even if you have online tickets, you have to go the office at the entry point to get your bona fide tickets. The queue there is very long although there are about 4 counters serving. It takes more than an hour to clear as many tourists and locals want to climb the see this place. It takes about 2 hours to get to the top as the you have to follow the line and limited overtaking possibilities. A number of rest stops or stages allow you to rest and recover. Need to be fit to climb this rock. Take lots of water and beware of wasps enroute. Worth the climb as you get magnificent 360 degree views of the surrounding area.
