点评：Or twice, if you also visit the Derinkuyu site. Kaymakli, however, is the more atmospheric, more photogenic and also better lit out of the two. Navigating through the underground labyrinth is a fascinating experience - taking you through rooms, churches, and seemingly endless tunnels and staircases. Historically, the place served as a storage and a shelter, allowing all life to move underground, sometimes for weeks at a time.
The path is very well marked, you will not be lost. However, I strongly recommend coming here on a guided tour, ideally in a small group and outside of the peak season. In July, the place didn’t feel crowded and it proved to be a fantastic adventure, even if the awareness of being 4 floors underground with only one way out through a maze of tunnels does feel a bit creepy. So, if you have claustrophobia - you may like to reconsider.
