点评：Visiting the Rose Garden at Queen’s Park in New Westminster is a real treat.
Although the park isn't very large, it once held special charm. Years ago, I used to love visiting the petting farm. You could gently stroke the adorable animals—a cozy, heartwarming experience, even for adults. Sadly, that part of the park was closed down, and the area now sits empty. It’s a shame when something that brought joy is taken away without offering anything in return. Since then, I rarely visit, as the park hasn’t had much to offer.
However, recently I came across some beautiful photos and a video of the rose garden, which inspired me to give the park another chance. It's easy to reach by transit. I went on a weekday, and to my delight, it was quiet—I almost felt like I had the entire place to myself.
Although I arrived near the end of the rose season and had missed the full bloom, the garden still impressed me. It’s thoughtfully designed, with a charming gazebo perfectly placed at the heart of the space. No wonder it’s a popular wedding venue. It’s cozy, serene, and beautiful—definitely worth the visit.
Next year, I plan to return in mid-June, when the roses should be at their peak. I’m already looking forward to it.
