海豚表演的点评
点评：I hadn't swum with the dolphins for over 15 years on Grand Bahama. I went with two visiting cousins. They have more recently moved their 'Dolphin Experience' to Sanctuary Bay, a large, protected bay, a few hundred yards to the open ocean. The friendly 'check in' process was seamless whereupon we were introduced to our Trainer, Darnell, who gave us a brief overview of the dolphins, the names, ages and successes with breeding and other relevant information about the habitat. She was extremely knowledgeable, articulate, projecting a delightful personality with nice touches of humor. Her enthusiasm could not be faulted.
Our first stop was the prep room for food where the meticulous planning for feeding was explained. Many dolphins have a specific diet depending on their age, size and whether they are nursing babies. They have surprisingly voracious appetites confirmed by the huge amounts of fish in the neighboring freezer.
We then went to the floating dock where when given fins we went into the water. The next 30 minutes was a spellbinding interaction with two dolphins who responded to the hand signals from Darnell. From huge leaps into the air to standing on their tails, this was the dolphins' entertainment as much as ours. We rode on the dorsal fins, were given hugs and kisses and were encouraged to give them belly rubs. They splashed us playfully, smiled and spoke in their special dolphin language! Ronisha, the photographer unobtrusively captured the best moments from dockside. When we got out of the water everyone had the biggest grin from ear to ear! The dolphins didn't seem to want to stop playing, such is their massively friendly nature!
This is truly a 5 Star experience and a chance to play with one of the world's most beautiful mammals in their own back yard.
Hats off to the friendly, professional and engaging staff. This is a 'must do' activity for all ages and abilities for anyone one visiting Grand Bahama- really!
