点评:We had a guided hike through Amber Mountain National Park and loved it. No, it isn't untouched, undisturbed forest, but it is still wonderful to visit. Even the "foreign" trees that were planted long ago are really interesting to see and are different than what I've experienced anywhere else. You can see lemurs, a great variety of chameleons, and at least a couple of wonderful tropical waterfalls, and of course much more.
We had a local biologist guide, Gauthier, and he was excellent and enthusiastic. Great at spotting creatures and explaining the flora and fauna.
When we visited, it wasn't too crowded. We encountered a couple other small groups on the trails a few times, but really barely noticed them. Fewer than 12 cars in the park while we were there, I believe.
We stayed at the Nature Lodge in nearby Joffreville, which we highly recommend. It made for a pretty short drive into the park.
