Excellent wines, great location, wonderful staff

点评：Alapay Cellars is located in downtown Avila Beach, CA in a nice cellar like area below the sidewalks. There is indoor and outside seating ,which is covered. Tasting is not cheap ($30/person), but fees are waived with a purchase of 1 bottle, so it is very fair.
Well trained staff will take you through several tastes featuring generous pours and provide history, flavor profile and other information to the specific wine being served. They do not rush you allowing you to sip, enjoy and savor the very good product they have.
Alapay wines are all of very good quality. Charcuterie cheese boxes are available for purchase to take with you or to enjoy on site as you taste.
Our server/pourer was Jerry who was very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and actually was working on the production side to learn wine making. In addition, the owner was assisting in pouring that day and he was equally fun and informative.
Besides the set list of wines to be tasted they often have specialty wines, more expensive wines, and dessert wines open and they are willing to share. During our time we actually tasted about 9 wines from a list of 6.
We highly recommend visiting this establishment and enjoying their wines and hospitality.
