Carpetbagger Aviation Museum的点评
点评：The Harrington area is an excellent area to explore the WW2 airfield, the RAF and USAF 8th Airforce memorial, this gem of a museum run by kind and very knowledgeable mature gentlemen is a must visit.
The musum has many wonderful peices that is well worth seeing and spending time to look at. When we arrived we had a great presentation from Keith and a film explaining the site, the airfield, secret operations and the Nuclear defences of the cold war. A walk around the operations and communication rooms was special with many artefacts from the day to read up about and look at.
We were particularly impressed with the information about the many secret agents especially the SOE who flew from here on covert missions into occupied countries during WW2 and didnt come back, very brave and couragous people.
The museum staff are working hard on a voluntary basis to keep this memory alive which is commendable, only £7 per person to enter we thought it really good value, its easy a 3 hour visit.
Geoff is an expert of the cold war missile element and he gave us a brilliant presentation of the aspects of the Thor missile site and our nuclear deterrent back in the day, which we thought excellent.
