点评：Snaefellsjökull is a 700,000 year old volcano covered by a glacier from the last ice age. It is found in the western end of the Snæfellness Penninsula and is the centrepiece of the Snaefellsjökull National Park.
There is a Visitor Centre at Malariff south of the Snaefellsjökull that is open from 10am to 5pm daily. It is located just off Route 574 which encircles the glacier capped volcano taking visitors through much of the national park. You can view Snaefellsjökull quite well on clear days by simply looking inland while travelling this route.
It seems that several tour companies offer helicopter and glacier walk activities upon Snaefellsjökull during the summer months. There are some very interesting natural attractions through the associated national park as well which make for a nice day or two of sightseeing and hiking around Snaefellsjökull.
