点评:This was the very first shopping mall we visited in Tokyo on our very first day of our 10-day Central Japan tour. It reminds me of Mid Valley Shopping Mall in Johore Bahru where you find many eateries, both food court, restaurants and shops of many international brands.
Our Japan tour guide brought us here for our lunch. Our guide is born in Penang, married to a Japanese who operated a tour agency and she helped to organise tours for groups from Singapore and Malaysia.
The recent depreciation in yen has resulted in a boom in the number of tourist arrivals and she has been very busy helping to co-ordinate the tours. We are one of those who capitalised on our strong Sing dollar against the depreciated yen to visit Japan. Even so, things are not cheap here in Japan compared to our local prices in our country.
Our guide understand that and brought us to eateries that are more price conscious and eat like what the general masses do.
One such eatery was the udon chain at the food court located on the ground floor where we could get the prices of udon at 300 to 600 yen per bowl.
The quantity is stomach filling, platable and presentation is awesome. There is free water provided from a dispenser and we need not spend any money on drinks. Overall, the expenditure is lower than that we spent at a hawker center in Singapore and we enjoyed the very first Japanese specialty: udon noodles on Japan soil.
After our lunch, we went around to visit some of the shops at the second floor. I bought one wool jacket for 1990 yen, a very good discounted item from UNIQLO.
This shopping mall is mass friendly not like those high end malls you find in Shibuya or Shinjuku where most meal prices are above the thousand yen range.
The mall is also not far from Odaiba, the artificial island which was our next destination.
