点评:This waterfall has a long history having been mentioned in the late Ming Dynasty. It's reputed to be Asia's largest. A visit here will prove to be very enjoyable in terms of the scenery and photographic opportunities. It's a good hiking ground, one-way for most of the hiking path.
We are visiting during the off-peak season, and for foreign visitors, this is the only sensible time to visit to avoid the huge crowds. If you are an independent traveller, it's confusing and managing the logistics, if you are unlucky, can be exhausting. As well, the paths are slippery even when it is dry season, and they aren't anywhere near the waterfall. We pay ¥200 each for entry and bus rides to three attractions, the falls being the first one.
One can walk behind the falls through the Water Curtain Cave, and the whole loop easily takes 2hr as you will want to take in the experience slowly. Cameras are everywhere and face recognition at entrances and exits can be expected.
Certainly, worthwhile doing, but:
1. Avoid Peak Seasons
2. Expect crowds
3. Beware slippery paths
4. Facilities for infirm are non-existent although there is an escalator that takes away some strain of climbing and descending, additional payment of ¥50 for both ways.
