点评:The sandhills cover 25% of the state of Nebraska and they are a huge wetlands complex and mostly undeveloped since you can't grow crops on them. We stopped at the Visitors Center in Broken Bow, which I would recommend. The man staffing it was friendly and informative and they have a small museum display there. Other than that, it's a beautiful drive, punctuated by small towns of varying size. It's just really cool to drive through these arrested sand dunes. There is a ton of cattle ranching but we also saw antelopes. Both the man at the Visitors Center and the clerk in the hotel in Alliance said that more people were starting to drive the Byway. There was very little traffic actually. I hope Nebraskans do get out and see the beauty of their state - this was much more fun to drive through than endless cornfields and flat.
