3 Weeks in Peru for Family of 4

点评：Overall we had a very positive experience with Richard and Taitalindo. He planned 3 weeks of our time in Peru and coordinated all the tours, transfers, hotels, etc. Every time we arrived at a new location there was someone there to meet us. We only had a few hiccups along the way, some of which were out of Richard's hands. The first is that we were supposed to have a break between doing the Inca Trail and our other activities to give us a chance to recover. It was originally scheduled this way but somehow needed to be changed due to Inca Trail ticketing so that we had our "break" first, and then 3 main activities in a row. This meant we could not enjoy the second and third activities to their fullest because we were so sore and tired from the Inca Trail. Second, we had an issue with a hotel in Cusco that refused to book us a single room. They gave us two rooms, both with a queen and a double in it that our family of 4 could easily fit in. That, and one room was on the 3rd floor and one was on the 1st floor. We weren't comfortable leaving our two young daughters by themselves on a different floor, especially when we could all fit in a single room. Richard tried to get the hotel to give us a refund for the room we didn't use but they wouldn't budge. Maybe Richard won't use that hotel in the future. Lastly there was a lot of confusion with the company that actually did the Inca Trail Tour. It was very stressful the day before trying to figure out what we needed to take, what was included or not, etc. In the end it was a smaller outfit and didn't have all the bells and whistles of other groups. Other tourists we spoke to, their company included the porters carrying the sleeping bags, the sleeping mats, and up to 5kg per person of personal items. None of that was included in our tour operator and we had to pay $150 USD more for an extra porter to carry what is normally included with other groups. However, once the logistics were out of the way, we were really pleased with the size of our group and our guide on the trail. We did quite a few guide tours in Sacred Valley, the Amazon, Rainbow Mountain and the Santa Cruz trail and in all situations, we were really pleased with the guides and the tours that were scheduled.
