乐山大佛的点评
点评：The Leshan Giant Buddha is an easy and inexpensive outing for DIY/Budget travelers.
I started the journey from the "Chengdu Tourist Bus Station", conveniently located next to Xinnamen Metro Station. Unfortunately, I got a late start and could not get a van until 09:30. The van cost 60 RMB.
There are at least two bus stations in bustling Leshan town. We made it to the large bus station (near the railway station) in two hours.
However, the journey continued to a much smaller bus station 30 minutes further on Xiaoba Road.
The bus station is located approximately here:
29° 33.28 N 103°44.15 E
From the Xiaobo Road bus station, take the number 13 public bus, which stops on the main road (highway). The bus stop is clearly marked and easy to find.
The drop-off point for the Leshan Buddha is approximately here:
29° 33.08 N 103°46.55 E
It's a bit of a hike from the main road and I didn't arrive until well after 14:00 (2 PM).
The site was chock full of domestic tourists, one hour was more than enough.
Upon returning to Xiaoba bus station on the same number 13 public bus, I was informed that I was too late, there were no more buses headed to Chengdu.
So, with the help of the locals, I worked my way north to Leshan railway station and took the train back.
A long, rewarding day of true DIY travel.
