The last nice beach near Krabi
帕南海滩的点评
点评：People are flocking here in droves - and there‘s a good reason for it: It‘s the last really nice beach close to Krabi. Ao Nang is a circus. Nopharat and Klong Muang are ok, but no more. Railay is basically just a noisy transit station.
Ao Phra Nang is how you‘d expect all Thai beaches to look, at least if all you know is pictures. Or how you seem to remember all Thai beaches were back in the day.
Unless you made the big mistake of booking an accommodation at Railay, getting to Ao Phra Nang is unpleasant, though. I recommend considering it a one time half day trip. No more, no less.
Make sure you arrive at Railay no later than 9:00 (the earlier the better), so you‘ll be at Ao Phra Nang by 9:30. Leave around noon and get away from Railay asap. Krabi is more expensive than Phuket and Railay more expensive than Krabi. No point in dwelling here.
Don‘t bring your snorkeling gear, there‘s no point. What makes Ao Phra Nang so special is not the fish but the truly stunning visual interplay of the two imposing giant rocks across from each other and the beautifully clear green water in between.
