Beautiful gardens and location, cafe disappointing

点评：We love Mount Congreve and usually visit several times a year. The gardens are stunning, and the history is very interesting.
The cafe is usually great but unfortunately I think it's gone downhill. The quality of the sandwiches isn't the same and they're overpriced. €9.50 for a ham and turkey ciabbata with a sprinkle of crushed crisps on the side. I asked the server for more crisps as my hungry teenager noticed. The server gave me a look and reluctantly sprinkled 3-4 more crisps onto the plate without a word. Our main courses were tasty, portions were large, but could have been warmer. We decided to leave rather than order desserts and coffees like we usually do, as the service seemed unfriendly. I do hope they revise the menu and bring back the proper Christmas sourdough sandwiches with good quality ham and turkey rather than deli counter meat.
