点评：How this beach rates the positive reviews it has is a mystery. It might be better in June or July, but in September it is a dump. More muddy than sandy with some decidedly straggly parasols and almost zero facilities, it is a serious disappointment. A bit like Kea in general. If your idea of a Greek island is picturesque harbours with crystal clear waters supporting brightly painted fishing boats whose catch can be enjoyed at a selection of close-by whitewashed tavernas with bougainvillea tumbling around a sun-dappled terrace do not go to this island. The 45 minute taxi ride from Athens airport followed by the 75 minute ferry crossing provides plenty of time to dream of the tranquil and unspoilt haven that awaits. Except that it doesn't. A barren lump of rock with a very few disappointing beaches and only a slightly greater number of nothing-special tavernas is all you get. Oh yes, and two supermarkets actually worthy of the name. Ah yes, but what about Ioulis? No more attractive than any number of Greek island villages its main claim to fame is that it is a serious assault course to walk around. If you are training for a marathon it's great. If you are on holiday and looking forward to strolling around in the sun punctuated by lunch and a couple of beers it's a pain in the ass. And pretty much everything else by the time you have found your way back to where you left your car.
