Over priced and high standards slipping

点评：Belfry has always been over priced..but it’s something many of us put up with to play at a venue where we’ve seen the professionals play. Always been a good set up and resort. Feel like they’ve lost their way with cashing in however. BRABAZON was £150-£200 a round when we booked (and was when looking at pretty much all dates). When looking to add an extra player and checking prices online, we saw that it was £90 to join us (open to anyone). The hotel was also cheaper meaning the package was £150pp cheaper to anyone wishing to join in later (appreciating this doesn’t give you a full tee time). I raised this as a complaint (felt the gap was too large) and was given the usual responses about early vs late bookings. It’s common practice to inflate fees and sell off spaces cheaper. I just feel it should be more reasonable price for all. The place was fairly full and can probably get away with it, but not for long. It’s not as busy as it used to be and the course was in poor standards for the price. Good and drink prices are fairly high too, paid £35 for 3 beers and chicken strips.
Derby course was ok in places (later holes and land is much better) but was full of idiots, many blaring music out, drinking heavily and swearing whilst playing golf and no staff around to stop them. All for everyone having fun but the place needs to have equal standards across the courses.
Over time people will just get tired of it - much better courses for less money and I for one won’t be going back.
