My friend’s flight was delayed, so before our scheduled boat trip I contacted a staff member and explained that we would not be able to make the reservation. I specifically asked whether we could move the booking to the following day. The employee responded that it was “no problem” and asked whether we wanted the same time the next day.
Based on that representation, I understood that the booking had been successfully moved.
When I later spoke with management, I was told that the employee had no authority to approve the change and that I should have contacted someone else. However, I was never told that further approval was required, nor was I instructed to contact a manager. As a customer, I relied on the information provided by their staff.
What was even more disappointing was the attitude I encountered when trying to resolve the issue. Rather than acknowledging the confusion created by their own employee, I was told that I had no grounds for complaint.
Mistakes happen, but businesses should take responsibility when customers act in good faith based on information given by their staff. Unfortunately, that did not happen here.
I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.
