点评：Just returned home after the 7+ day Donegal Coastal Treasures tour. I went as a solo traveler on a self-guided tour, looking to see the beauty of Ireland with some peace away from hoards of people. I was not disappointed.
Having never done a bike tour before, not considering myself a cyclist and knowing very little about Ireland, I was most interested in working with a local operator. After communicating with Ireland by Bike, I knew I found the right people.
The booking process was seamless and when I inquired about adding an extra day to hike Slibah Liag, they made the accommodation without blinking an eye. Every day seemed so expertly planned that I didn’t have to do much advance preparation before my arrival.
Seamus met me upon my arrival to Donegal Town and went over the maps, gps and e-bike details. The system is set up to be pretty much idiot-proof, although one could find themselves off-route if not paying close attention to the details (i.e. I may be an idiot). During the course of my 8-day trip, I met the most wonderful and kind people of Donegal and saw breathtaking landscapes, including some of the most amazing beaches that really took me by surprise.
Overnight stays included with the booking were mostly with BNBs (one hotel stay). All of the BNB hosts were lovely and very helpful with questions. However, I’m generally a traveler who prefers staying in hotels so in the future, I would opt for choosing a hotel stay, which I know Seamus could arrange.
If you are considering a trip to Ireland, I would highly recommend contacting Ireland by Bike - even if only for a day trip in the area. The hills are real so get the e-bike, you won’t be sorry.
