ARCHELON Τhe Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece的点评
点评：Attended a half day trip with the Archelon Turtle Society with Nefis Travel whilst in Zante, Greece. The boat trip was very nice with agreed swimming stops. The Society gave us a most interesting insight into the world of loggerhead turtles and their battle to protect them.
This is an extremely noble cause and the work they do should be fully recognised and supported. We are pleased to see that whilst staying in Kalamaki the arrngements on the beaches were made to corden off the areas where these graceful creatures are allowed to lay their eggs in peace.
We only sighted one around turtle island from a respectful distance but control needs to be exercised on the number of boats from tour operators who crowd in around possible sightings. Nefis/ Archelon kept a respectful distance at all times.
Souvenirs from the Society could be bought on the boat and donations can be made.
A lovely day and a clear message on preservation of our turtle population.
