点评:We recently visited the Market for the first time in its new home on Wednesday from 4pm January 2026.
Much thought and money has been put into this new venture and It will delight most visitors. The Market is a must go to social place for locals and visitors alike. Whether it is Wednesday from 4pm or Friday or Saturday. The venue is neat, well laid out and clean and gets really busy and full from early. There is a extensive selection of yummy treats and meals to eat. The fresh veggie and fruit section is excellent. However the venue now has a very organised commercialised feel. No more natural market. Neither is it cheap street food but quality of what is offered generally is very good. It is in a completely different league to markets in Europe or the US but is not an "African" market.
There are a few DOWNSIDES, not ignoring the crowds. The wood ship floor, overlaid on a concrete floor is horrible! Not the place for handicapped persons, high heels, prams, crutches, wheel chairs or mobility scooters. Extremely uneven and persons with hip or knee problems will be unhappy. There are no clearly visible directions for exits or emergency exits or toilets. Some stalls are at a "raised" level with small menus which is awkward to read and access.
