点评:The chateau has been rescued by the current owners over the last 60 plus years - they have done a valiant job of it.
The tour we did was at 2.00pm and this seems to be the fixed time each afternoon the château is open, I’m not sure what time the morning tours start. The tour lasted for 90 minutes and was in French, but we were given an English handout sheet which provided a lot of information. We were also lucky that there were some English speaking French on the tour who very kindly gave us additional information.
There are two spiral staircases to navigate in the towers and also various steps up and down. It would not be suitable for anyone who is mobility impaired and definitely no push chairs.
Payment is by cash or cheque, there is no debit card or contactless facility.
It is advisable to park in the main square in Boussac, it is a five minute walk to the Château . In Boussac, there are a couple of café/restaurants which provide a varied choice of food. We went to one of them and had the plat de jour, which was very good. Boussac is worth exploring as it offers a little more than your usual closed and shuttered feel (where is everyone) French village.
