A Scenic Park with Missed Opportunities

点评：Wildpark Anholter Schweiz is a beautifully spacious park located in a forest, but it could use some maintenance in certain areas. It gave us the feeling as if this park has seen better days. There were few animals, and everything required quite a bit of walking. We didn't receive a map, and the maps and signs in the park were completely unclear about the best paths to take or where to find specific animals.
Especially in terms of catering and souvenirs, the park missed out on a lot of revenue. We visited the park on a very busy, sunny Sunday afternoon on March 3, 2024. There was only one food point in the middle of the park, with an enormous queue. We wanted to order two bratwurst sandwiches, but after 15 minutes of waiting, the bratwurst sign was taken down, and we were informed that everything was sold out, with only donuts left for sale, and it was only 2:00 PM. What a disappointment, and they missed out on a lot of income. The park could have easily placed two additional small food stalls at other locations and simply stocked up more. We decided to leave the queue, exit the park, and find something to eat elsewhere.
There was no souvenir shop. There were only a few stuffed animals in a display case in a completely empty closed store, and that was it. Additionally, there were too few toilets, and the toilet paper was completely gone.
In summary, it is a beautifully spacious park, easily accessible with free parking. However, due to the lack of animals, long walking distances, and disappointing catering, it is not currently worth revisiting. Perhaps in the future, if improvements are made.
