点评:An enjoyable walk with some excellent views.
The hardest part of this route was the initial uphill climb out of the city and, ultimately, this is completed on pavements so is manageable with an average level of fitness.
Our visit was during a rare UK dry spell so the ground was firm and we were fine in sturdy trainers. I can imagine it gets muddy in places so I would recommend some walking boots with decent grips if you are not so lucky with the weather.
Having spent a number of days admiring the city centre, this 3 to 4 hour walk provided a welcome break from the tourist hustle and bustle - beautiful views and plenty of places to sit and take it all in.
If you are in the city for a few days then I would definitely recommend including this in your itinerary as a change of pace.
I have seen some comments on here about poor signage but we followed the guide on the National Trust website and managed okay.
