A must-visit for the elephants and the dedicated staff

点评：Right from pickup and short boat ride across the Kaveri river we were greeted with very helpful staff with big smiles and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. After we had checked-in, we were treated to warm coffee before heading off to the jungle safari. We saw peacocks, spotted deer, gaurs, wild boars, herons, egrets, parakeets, kingfishers and wild elephants!
Back at the camp we got to meet and interact with over half a dozen of the camp elephants. The highlight of Dubare is the elephant interactions. We got to stand next to and bath several of the magnificent tuskers during their morning dip in the river. Then we got to walk with the elephants to their feeding pen and hand feed them straw, paddy and jaggery. The mahouts and guides were omnipresent ensuring the safety of both the guests and the elephants. Both during the safari and elephant interactions the guides were alongside providing very interesting anecdotes and helping with capturing memorable photos.
We were treated to sumptuous breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee/tea and dinner. Lots of yummy vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices, served warm in earthen pots on coal-fired warmers.
The experience with the elephants makes this a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience the magnificence of these lovely, gentle animals. But, what makes it really special is the care and dedication of the staff.
