Following the missionary footsteps of the Apostle Paul through Greece, Turkey and Rome.
Agnus Dei Catholic Church的点评
点评:I visited Kos as part of a Pilgrimage following the missionary footsteps of the Apostle Paul. We travelled through Greece, Turkey and then onto Rome.
My pilgrimage group was from the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and was led by Bishop Michael Kennedy. Another priest from the Diocese, Fr Priyantha, also accompanied the group.
Many areas we visited are now Greek Orthodox. I had not anticipated finding a church that celebrated the liturgy in communion with Rome. The church is opened rarely unlike many of the Greek Orthodox churches.
We visited a town, Meteora, which has some 26 monasteries perched high on rocky peaks. Only a few are still in use. We were able to visit two of these Greek Orthodox monasteries. They are filled with the most beautiful icons reflecting a deep faith and rich spiritual life.
I intend to visit both Kos and Meteora again, and soon.
