Fabulous Place, Shame About The Welcome

点评：Oh how I wish I could have given the Castle five circles however the unfriendly welcome and the rip off bar prices stopped that. I always try to speak the local lingo as a mark of respect to the fact that you are in someone elses country, however this didn't wash with the miserable lady on the ticket desk.
No smile, no welcome, took our money and then slapped a guide leaflet down. It wasn't until we got to the first point of interest that I saw the leaflet was in German. They definitely had English leaflets as we saw several English people reading from theirs.
The castle and grounds are well worth the 12Euro entry, the place is stunning and the views magnificent. You definitely need comfy shoes as there is so much to see. The weather was lovely for us and it was a joy to find a lovely bar right at the top for a well earned sit and drink. We were served by a lovely pleasant young man who was doing his best to be as quick as he could serving all the tables single handedly. However when we went to pay the bill I couldn't believe my ears when I heard 30 Euros for two Hugo Sprtitz. We didn't look at the bar menu as we knew what we wanted. The general price for these is 7 - 8 Euros each including complimentary nibbles. We got a few doritos and crisps and paid 15 each !!! Come onnnnnn , you almost expect to pay a bit more for location location locaation but double was beyond belief.
We visited the lower bar so I could see the price list. The Hugos were 11 Euros in there so a little better but not much.
All in all we had a fabulous day but such a shame to not be welcomed and then to feel like you've been robbed. Made my feelings known by filling in the guest book near the art rooms which is a great idea. Shame it had a bit of negativity
