Could not wait to return, but wish I hadn't

点评：Visited for a spa break a couple of weeks ago and I have to say I was so disappointed.
I had been before in 2018 and could not speak highly enough of the place back then. It really was a luxury spa, however nothing has changed and it is dated, overbooked, poorly run and lacking empathy for its downturn.
I can't help that many of the recent reviews have disappeared too.
The room was bang average, slightly dirty in places, we called for room service on the button labelled room service, were told they don't do room service but they will do it.
The spa had many out of order appliances and was overbooked, therfore less of a serene experience.
I had a full body massage which missed half of the body (arms and legs not worked, hands untouched, feet, neck, head and faced not touched).
Dinner was slow, poorly organised, staff not educated in the food or drink offerings and the food was obviously not fresh. The dining area is also very cold.
Bar was closed early because 2 members of staff were too busy flirting with each other.
Arrived for breakfast at 8am. On arrival to the table we were told the buffet would be out in a minutes.
After over half an hour, I tried to find staff to chase this but nobody was around. On 2 occasions I waited at reception and there was nobody to be found.
Eventually they came to my table and said the buffet is ready. I went up and there were no serving utensils so had to find someone again to sort this.
As I was checking out there were a queue of guests all wishing to complain about multiple issues they had experienced.
Not one person was offered anything other than feeble 'sorry about that'.
Having paid £450 for a night, I feel that the experience received was worth less than half of that.
We couldn't leave the car park for an hour after we left due to dramas with snow and stuck vehicles but we'll let them off with the weather
