Cumbrian Heavy Horses的点评
点评：I booked a 2-hour farm ride for my sister and myself and had big expectations which were sadly not met.
The ride itself was very tame, with the most exciting part being walking down a sheep field in order to canter a hundred or so meters up again. It wasn't possible to ride a round route, we were only a few hundred meters from the farm at any one time and doubled back on ourselves on steep, stony paths.
We're both experienced riders and would NOT recommend this experience if you have any ambitions beyond the novelty of riding huge, rare-breed giants (who were admittedly gorgeous and very sweet). The staff on the yard was very professional and kind and apologised when we admitted to feeling very underwhelmed and deflated. It was just frustrating to spend so much time standing around and at a slow walk. The canters were a highlight but came way too short.
Sadly I would say this experience (the farm ride in October) is not worth the £110 per person price tag.
On a more positive note, the horses were lovely and it was interesting to learn more about heavy breeds. The landscape is spectacular and they have a wide variety of riding boots, hats, gloves and even coats to borrow, if like me, you're travelling light.
