Forest Dunes Golf Club的点评
点评：The Forest Dunes resort is easily reached from the Detroit area, with two courses rated in the top 100 public courses in the US. The Forest Dunes course is a classic “up north” venue, with wide fairways, well-bunkered and challenging greens, and enough variety in the holes to keep it interesting. Definitely not a top 50 course but very pleasant and playable. In contrast The Loop is a joke, a badly maintained pasture with boring holes, and, because of the tricked up nature of being able to play in two directions, the tee boxes are often disconcertingly close to the previous greens. Watching bad golfers tee off within yards from your next green is boring and slows play. Definitely not a top 100 experience.
The villa housing option for four golfers was fine and functional at a fair price. The food and bar options were just ok, but nothing special (compared to, for example, the great dining at Arcadia Bluffs, another top rated Michigan set of courses). The golf staff was great. The lodging and wait staff was “varied” in their skill sets.
Worth a visit to check off your list of playing ranked public courses but lower your expectations for the over-rated Loop.
