点评:We spent 26 days in Portugal seeing many sites and doing many activities. Our time at Monte do Alamo was our favorite. The quaint phrase “farm to table” gets thrown around quite a bit these days. But our experience at Monte do Alamo was the real deal. Our instructor and chef gave us very informative information about many products at the market: the differences in the salts and honey, and the qualities and uses of various fishes (no, cod is not found in Portuguese waters) and vegetables. Then when we got back to the farm, she explained their organic operations and native fruit and nut trees. On the side, she talked to me about various canning techniques and organic ways to control fungus on plants. She was very good at finding topics of interest to each individual (there were 8 of us) and sharing knowledge. She then lead us in preparing native dishes. She left me impressed with her breadth of knowledge, truly from “farm to table”.
We sat at the table and enjoyed the meal and the gorgeous views from the farm.
And at the end of our trip, all 4 of us found our meal here to be the best we had on this adventure.

我们坐在餐桌旁享受美食和农场的美景。
在旅行结束时,我们 4 个人都发现我们在这里用餐是这次冒险中吃过的最好的一餐。
