点评:Went there with family on a Friday. You would think that being such a popular temple, there would be basics in place, like traffic management, cleanliness, signages etc. There was none. We parked the car about 3 kms away and took a rickshaw. As you go closer to the temple, the roads get narrower and the smell gets more putrid (the drains are open!). The rickshaw drops you about 500 metres away from the temple, and then the smell and the dust and noise only gets worse.
There are shoe stands, however, it is an open stand, meaning anyone can just pick any shoe and disappear. I saw more than 1000 pairs just thrown in one giant heap (the actual pigeon hole stand had footwear shoved into all the boxes). One would imagine that the temple management would atleast provide tokens (e.g. Siddhivinayak in Mumbai or Guruvayur in Trichur or the many more better managed temples), but no, the authorities are just milking this town.
The actual temple, well we didn't even enter, we just left looking at the crowds. There was a separate male and female line, the area was stinking, people were pushing each other, almost a stampede like situation.
Just to find the start of the queue was a task, finally we left since it was impossible to breathe.
This was the most disappointing temple visit. I just wish the local authorities did a better (or minimal) job of managing such popular temples.
Visit only if you are patient and very very religious. Also, please avoid taking small kids and aged family members.
