Great Alum Cave Trail Hike

点评：We were in Elkins Riding the Train but I wanted to stop here to check out the Alum Cave Trail. We didn't have a ton of time but if you have 1-2 hours you can check this place out no problem. It was about 25 minutes from Elkins and pretty easy to find, however we were not sure where to park (see my map with the arrow of where to park) When you cross over the bridge across the river, park in the first parking area to the right, park and then walk across the street to the trail, you will pass restrooms and a creepy playground, I suggest walking the trail counter clockwise so you get all the views on the upper part of the trail. I saw some reviews saying the trail is easy, I would not say this, it is more of a moderate trail, there are elevation changes and lots of tree roots so footing can be unstable if you have issues with this. I highly recommend hiking boots for this trail for the ankle support as there are lots of trip hazards and roots. The views are gorgeous here and walking under the caves was so beautiful, if you're in the area this is worth a stop.
