点评:The park and campsites were good. The scenery is amazing. The staff are kind.
If you are going to stay and have a trailer, be sure to fill your freshwater before going. There is a boil water advisory. Locals and some staff informed us that this is usually the case. This is ok if you know and are prepared ahead but we could not find this noted anywhere and it was not communicated to us. Our local friends warned us to fill water in advance and drive there with full tanks. If you go without knowing, you would not have access to potable water for your freshwater tanks. It is not good to put poor water in your tanks so this is important to know. I understand and sympathize that this is a challenge for the entire region. Communication of this is important to trailering campers. The closet access to potable freshwater is Wiarton half hour away and I am not sure you would be able to find somewhere to fill.
Bring loonies for the showers, they are coin operated.
Ask about the Visitor Centre hours if you wish to utilize it. Hours are posted Wed, Sat, Sun but the centre was shut the whole time we were there. It was a big part of our decision to go there and learn of the First Nations while there with our son. We went to the local Mountain Bike Park instead which was awesome.
If you prepare knowing the tips above, your stay will be great! It’s stunning beauty at Cape Croker.
