Relaxing weekend away, hard golf course for higher handicappers.

点评：I really enjoyed playing the course but a word of warning to the higher handicapper. This course is HARD! I play off 26 and got frustrated with my game as I was often punished with the traps. I would love to play this course as better golfer, not sure I would come back until/if my handicap drops below 20. We also played during the heatwave which made conditions harder but that’s of course not the clubs fault. Very well kept though considering the punishing summer we’re having. Hole 11 is worth a special mention, it’s beautiful! Without doubt my favourite hole I’ve ever played in terms of how it looks.
The restaurant served some amazing food but the service was incredibly slow with waiting staff not making eye contact and favouring clearing tables rather than serving your table. We had to wait 45 minutes to put our pudding order in, we gave up waiting and just asked. It was very quiet as well which is what made it so frustrating. The waiters and waitresses need to be told to make eye contact with the tables so they are ready to do their job if someone needs something as all of them avoided it from our experience.
The rooms and hotel are immaculate. The spa has everything you need, relaxing environment and smells lovely. It just needs the restaurant staff upping their game in terms of the service they give and it’s almost faultless. They were friendly but the slow service is the reason for my 4/5.
