Bigwell Fly Fishery的点评
点评：I started fly fishing early this year and have visited a number of fisheries since. Big well has become my ’go to’ place and I try to get there every week if I can.
The fish are plentiful and certainly put up a fight, especially if you are fortunate enough to hook a ‘Bluey’. They seem to average around 3lbs but there are plenty of fish at 4lbs+ that I have witnessed being caught. They are all in great condition and my wife and friends tell me they taste fabulous as well (I can’t eat them sadly!).
The surroundings are lovely with a lot of other wildlife to spot and take pleasure in, and the owner, Gary, is a true gentleman who is tremendously helpful and welcoming. I gather the food he prepares is excellent as well though I’ve never eaten there.
This year has been very hard for Gary to keep the weed down due to weather and Severn Trent constantly pumping water from the spring that feeds the ponds. This has left the gin pool murky as well as weedy but the fishing has still been rewarding I look forward to seeing the place in its prime again. Despite the problems Bigwell has been the best place I’ve visited so far this year, by far!
