点评:The Bear’s Hump trailhead is conveniently located right beside Highway 5, directly facing the iconic Prince of Wales Hotel. Although short, the hike is quite steep—gaining about 225 meters (738 feet) in elevation over roughly 1.5 hours round trip. As you ascend, you'll be treated to beautiful views of the Prince of Wales Hotel and Middle Waterton Lake. However, much of the surrounding forest was heavily damaged by the 2017 Kenow Fire, so the landscape is still recovering. Despite the scorched trees, the wide-open views provide a unique and dramatic atmosphere. Once at the summit, the effort is absolutely worth it. You’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Waterton townsite, the surrounding mountains, and the lakes below—a perfect spot for photos or a quiet moment to take it all in. Due to the steep grade, I highly recommend bringing hiking poles and plenty of water. The descent can be just as challenging as the climb. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way—on my visit, I was lucky enough to see a black bear climbing a tree! All in all, Bear’s Hump is a must-do hike in Waterton. It’s a short but rewarding adventure that showcases the stunning beauty of the park.
