点评:Not as stunning as say, Stanton Hall but not as popular either, and I got what essentially amounted to a solo tour and the docents were more than willing to engage, questions about history, construction, etc. And a picture of me taken on the balcony overlooking the river which was a nice touch. The house has an interesting history and while earlier than some of the Natchez tour houses and thus not as elaborate, it was nice to see a more classic Greek Revival house (with some late, late Federal influence too, I thought). The photo explanation here is 'insurance', which I can tell you as a 30+ year underwriter is bunch of malarky. Ugh. Still, given the amount of individualized attention, even with less lavish furnishings (but they love that Belter parlor suite - spend enough time in Natchez and you'd think the town bought out the entire Belter supply round about 1850, and then they bought the Meeks supply as well!), this is a good deal for $20.
