Macdonald Linden Hall Golf & Country Club的点评
点评：I have fond memories of a stay at the bath spa Mac Donald’s hotel some years ago but unfortunately the brand is not consistent. We stayed one night, the bed was very comfortable especially the pillows but the banging of doors kept us awake. There was also a constant hum from the extractor fan at the linden tree ‘pub’ which was more than 300 yards away. The water in the bath drained feebly through the plug and left ankle deep water when showering. After playing hunt the hairdryer I played hunt the plug. The plug was some distance away from the only mirror in the room and the extended cord reached. Just. The hairdryer was one of those where you had to keep your finger on the button to get it working. For people with arthritis, almost impossible. As for the Linden tree ‘pub’ “least said soonest mended” lack lustre service, barely adequate food.
Breakfast was held in a lovely room with garden views. The full English left something to be desired. Although the black pudding was excellent, the toast was flaccid, the poached egg, over cooked, the mushroom watery, the sausage cheap and hard, and the bacon was tough as leather. I ordered a breakfast sandwich - on the menu, for my husband. Egg and sausage and I received sausage and bacon no egg. It seems that fond memories of the macdonald brand should remain just that. While I was sitting at breakfast a couple came in and Sid their name was co - burn - their pronunciation. The waitress who greeted them said ah COCK BURN, loudly. This was the highlight of my stay. The poor people muttered something about pronunciation and meekly found themselves a table.
