点评：When I read the reviews of this temple first, I was hesitant about visiting. I read that there were hordes of touts and hawkers who would pester you before entering the temple. Also, others would demand additional money to enter the complex. Glad to report that I didn't encounter any of this during my visit. Instead, my visit to this temple went smoothly.
The temple is about 70-80 minutes drive from Ubud. The temple is located on the slopes of Bali's tallest mountain - Agung. The mountain provides a stunning backdrop to the temple. Besakih is located at the height of about 1000 mtrs.
As soon as you enter, you will find a huge car parking area, which also has free restrooms. Your entrance ticket covers the entrance to the temple, a sarong to wear while at the temple, and a free shuttle to the main entrance. But there's no shuttle on the way back! The ticket (150000 IDR) also includes a guide, who will accompany you through your visit, explain about the temples within, and also help you take great pics! Of course, you are expected to tip him after though it is not mandatory.
This is the biggest temple in Bali and is dedicated to the 3 main gods - Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiv. Actually, there are over 20 temples within the complex. You are allowed within the temples only if you plan to offer prayers. However, it is well worth walking around the complex. When I visited, there were hardly any people.
I would recommend all to definitely visit this majestic temple.
