点评：The Mount Asahidake ropeway is about an hour drive from Asahikawa. The parking is 500 yen per car . It is very cold there in early October at -2degrees up the mountain so do dress warmly .
The ropeway costs 3500 yen and departs every 15 minutes . There are restrooms at the ropeway lower station together with a gift shop . The whole cable car ride takes about 10 minutes and is very scenic .
On the upper station , there is a small cafe selling coffee and snacks . Once you step
Out of the station , you get to see the mountain and a small pond - very beautiful . Then you start the walks . Three walks available -20 minutes , 30 minutes or 1hour walk(1.7km).
However do note that the first part is a bit tricky for old folks as it involves walking up steps with pebbles . Once you complete this first section , the rest of the walk is relatively easier . We completed the first part and decided to come back down as we felt it was too cold . Still we managed to get breath taking photos .
Definitely worth a visit.
