Unexpected Stop, But So Worth It!
Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center的点评
点评：We hadn’t planned on visiting the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center, but after seeing the sign on our drive back from Florissant, we decided to stop—and we’re so glad we did! As two adults in our mid-30s with no kids, we found the museum very interesting and enjoyable.
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made our visit even better. One of the highlights was learning about the fossil excavation and restoration process—understanding how dinosaur fossils are removed, transported, and preserved was fascinating. The working fossil lab was an unexpected treat and one of the coolest parts of the visit!
That said, there’s a lot of reading, and we did hit reading fatigue after a while. But even with that, the exhibits were engaging and well put together. The museum was quiet when we visited (on a weekend), making it easy to explore at our own pace.
It’s a bit out of the way from Colorado Springs, but definitely worth the drive, especially if you’re already in Manitou Springs or Florissant. Admission was reasonably priced, and parking was free and easy in the adjacent lot. The museum itself was well-organized and accessible.
If you're a dinosaur lover or just curious about fossils, this is a great stop!
