Ghost Ranch的点评
点评：We visited Ghost Ranch last week for a much needed break and to attend a watercolor workshop. I hiked here in 2016 and have wanted to return for many years.
Our stay became so much more than just a weekend retreat. We have been transformed by the natural beauty, spiritual prescence, and welcoming community of the ranch. It reminded us very much of going to camp. We were graciously and openly welcomed by staff and visitors representing all cultures, religions, and beliefs. There were pastors, artists, geologists, hikers, retirees, AmeriCorps workers, college students, and ranch hands. Everyone ate together in the cafeteria in the glow of a huge fireplace with great fellowship. Many visitors have long histories with the ranch and stay weeks or months at a time.
The rooms and cabins are sparce but comfortable. Bedding and towels are provided, but no toiletries or TVs. The cafeteria has simple, hot meals every meal, with gluten-free and vegetarian options. Remember, this is a ranch, not a resort. Much of the maintenance is done by volunteer service corps, and employees also live at the ranch. I would not recommend coming for a vacation in an RV. the RV lots are removed from the main camp and mostly used by staff and long-term volunteers.
We found peace and have returned renewed both mentally and spiritually. We have been blessed by complete strangers who now feel like our best friends. Physically, we are exhausted, but that's another story. A week at 5,600 feet, walking everywhere, takes a toll. Next time, we will be ready to hike Kitchen Mesa.
