Loretta Lynn's Birthplace - Butcher Hollow的点评
点评：This was a most memorable visit, a visit that I dreamed of for years, the childhood home of Loretta Lynn. The father, and I do forget his name, of the young man will meet you on the front porch. He owns it and operates it now as he promised Loretta's brother, Herman, as he was on his deathbed, that he would take care of it. I believe that he is somehow related to Loretta, a cousin, perhaps. There has been some maintainance, but he has kept it as original as it can be for an old 2 room home, which it originally was. He will tell you little stories as Loretta's music plays in the background on a radio. The original wallpaper, now peeling. Loretta's dad did add on a little later on while the family still lived there. There was a vegetable garden and an area for livestock, he told us. Since the Company store charged a lot for the things they sold to miners, everyone tried to raise their own food as much as possible. Fascinating history. The man expressed concern about what will happen to the place after he is gone and hoped his son will take charge of it. I hope so! This part of musical history cannot be lost!
