点评:Even if you aren't a big country music fan, this is a fantastic place to visit. You get to walk the holler and property and see inside this Kentucky Appalachian home. The history of Loretta (Webb) Lynn is very interesting, and the guide did such a good job talking with us. Mack was just a real decent person. It is very real and down home, and they are trying to preserve the history of this place. Start your visit by visiting the historical Webb Grocery in Van Lear. That in itself is so neat to see! The store is over 100 years old, and is still run by the Webb family. The young man at the counter was very corial and showed us some historical dresses that Loretta wore, plus a script coin, as the store used to be a miner's store. There are shirts, trinkets, and such for sale as well as some food supplies. Tours of Loretta's home are currently $5/person. You can can pay in cash and give it directly to the tour guide. They currently run tours at 12 and 3 pm daily. On the short drive from the store to the home, you will also pass a mine entrance and the school house that Loretta attended. On the homestead stands an outhouse, small barn shelter, and well. The house is not big, but the memorable visit is worth well more that $5 a person.
