点评:I’m not really sure what previous reviewers are complaining about.
We visited on a lovely sunny afternoon, there is a well surfaced car park (in return for optional donation).
Sadly the boat wasn’t running as we are still early in the season, but a short walk across the bridge and past the dogs led us to the monastery, we were waiting for the witch mentioned in previous reviews to swoop upon us but instead we were greeted by a pleasant gentlemen who let us in. the cost was 20 Leo per person plus an extra 10 for photos as mentioned before.
This is less than the price of a cup of coffee and a bargain as far as I’m concerned, the place is clearly well kept and that comes at a cost so it’s only right that they charge for entry.
Outside and to the right there are clean toilets, and also a little wooden jetty beside the lake which is a lovely spot to take in the views.
Irrespective of your thoughts about the legitimacy of the grave of Vlad the impaler, the painted walls inside the monastery are quite spectacular and this is well worth a visit.
